Profile
Martin Slocombe signs on for the Terras after being a target
of Matty Hale's since he became manager of the club. At his
first press conference in June, Hale suggested that he was chasing
down a left back who he felt would be a great acquisition for
the team.
A month on and he has claimed his man. Slocombe started his
career at Bristol City as a youth player, and signed a professional
deal with the Robins in May 2007. He was unfortunately unable
to break into the City side, and a year on he was released,
leaving him to join Bath City at Twerton Park.
He made thirty-one appearances for the Romans in the Blue Square
South last season, and Hale seems excited to have him on board
at the Wessex. He has a great engine on him and he likes
to get forward as well as defend. He has a fantastic left
foot and is just the type of full-back I want. The other great
thing is that he is still young and I am sure he will prove
another very good asset for the club. |
