JASON Matthews admitted he felt a draw “was probably a fair result” after his side battled for a point at Banbury on Saturday.
A Charlie Davis spot-kick helped the Terras to a share of the spoils in the 1-1 scoreline with the Puritans, and the Terras’ boss was keen to take the positives from the encounter.
He told Echosport: “I felt that, on a very sticky pitch, it was a good result on the whole.
“Both teams tried to play football on a tricky surface and I felt we gave an excellent account of ourselves. For once, a draw was probably a fair result.”
He added: “It was good that Tiago Sa came on and gave a really good account of himself.
“Fleets and Thommo (Stuart Fleetwood and Ben Thomson) forged a really good partnership up top and, on the whole, it was a fairly good performance with some plus-points to take out of it.”
As well as bringing on youngster Sa from the reserve set-up, Matthews also gave Dom Panesar-Dower more match minutes for the first team in the latter stages of the contest.
Asked about those youngsters, he replied: “Those two lads in particular have got in on merit.
“There have been some good performances from them, it goes to show we do look and Brad (Asagba, reserves’ boss) is bringing in the right lads into the reserves for me to use.”
