Terras pair ready for Marine life
By Adam Summers

Friday 20th January 2012

RICHARD Marshallsay and Ryan McKechnie have only a month left at the Terras before leaving to establish careers in the Royal Marines.

The popular duo are set to join up on February 20 but boss Brendon King is still hoping to utilise their services on a part-time basis.

He told Echosport: “Both Richard and Ryan are great lads and joining the Marines is something they have both worked really hard for.

“I take my hat off to them because they are extremely fit lads and the fact they want to go off and fight for their country is something I have a lot of time for.

“They have also been really important squad players for us this season and it is a shame we are going to lose them.

“As they are joining the Marines, we have to take them both off contracts but we are looking to sign them again on non-contract forms so when they are back at the weekends they can still be available.

“The fact they are both joining up at the same time is great for them and the club wishes them all the best for the future.”

Weymouth will travel to Evesham United in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier on Sunday (3pm) where they will be keen to make amends following back-to-back defeats against Arlesey Town and Alfreton Town.
