Groover Criticism is justified

MATT Groves has no qualms with the criticism that is being
levelled at the Terras at this moment in time.
The Weymouth player/assistant-manager made the admission
yesterday following George Rolls outburst at the squad
in which he told the players to shape up or ship out after
three heavy defeats against Arlesey Town, Alfreton Town and
Evesham United.
Speaking to Echosport, Groves said: It has been a disappointing
time. When you endure three hammerings on the spin like that
people are going to be upset.
George Rolls has made his feelings clear and I can
understand exactly why he feels like that because the performances
of late have not been good enough.
However, people do not become bad players overnight
and in a fortnights time everything could be different
with a couple of good results.
We showed in our performances against St Albans and
Totton that we possess the quality to compete with any team
in the division but anyone can raise their game against the
top sides in front of the big crowds.
It is what you do on the road when you are up against
it that is the true test and that inner strength is something
we need to instil.
The majority of the players are still inexperienced
and recent results have clearly affected them.
The key now is for everyone to start taking responsibility
and work together to turn things around.
Doubts continue to hang over the futures of Byron Napper
and Alex Jeannin.
Loanee Napper is waiting to hold talks with his parent club
while Jeannin has missed the last two games, with his latest
absence being put down to a calf injury.
