King waits on ex-Terra
By Adam Summers
Friday 13th August 2010
BRENDON King is hoping to have an experienced ex-Terra in
his squad for tomorrows Dorset Premier League opener
against Merley Cobham Sports at the Bob Lucas Stadium (3pm).
The Weymouth reserve-team manager refuses to shed anymore
light on the players identity until his return to the
club has been confirmed.
King said: I have been trying to coax him out of retirement
for a while and if he is available tomorrow he will be a great
addition that will provide excellent support to the youngsters.
Kings side are also expected to include ex-Westland
Sports striker Mike Rousell and former Portland United star
Chris Reader.
He added: The squad depends a lot on what happens with
the first team and whether Ian Hutchinson makes any signings
between now and their game at Halesowen.
Ashley Weeks will be in goal for us and the likes of
Sam Poole, Ryan McKechnie, and Mark Brock will also be involved,
along with a few of the under-18s.
King led Chickerell United to runners-up spot in the league
last season but this term his job is just about developing
players.
He said: I am not worried about the result tomorrow.
Instead it is all about learning and being as professional
as we can. My role is about educating players and helping
them progress into senior football and beyond.
