City ruin Terras dreams
By Adam Summers
Wednesday 25th August 2010
IAN Hutchinson was left cursing his sides luck after
Weymouth were denied a third goal in last nights devastating
3-2 defeat at new league leaders Salisbury City.
With a 2-0 lead at half-time, the Terras were dreaming of
a famous first victory in the Zamaretto Premier Division at
the start of the second period but everything conspired against
them as the Whites pulled off a dramatic comeback with three
goals in the last 15 minutes.
Bradley Grays brace and Scott Joyces winner sealed
a heartbreaking reversal of fortunes for Hutchinsons
men, particularly after a highly contentious decision saw
Jamie McGuinness have an effort ruled out for offside on 65
minutes.
The Terras boss: Jamie is an honest lad and he
is adamant he wasnt offside. The keeper saved it and
Jamie come from behind their lad to tuck it in so the fact
it wasnt given was very disappointing.
Had it been given it would have been 3-0 and game over
but instead 10 minutes later they scored to get right back
in it.
Hutchinson went on to add: A bit of the rub of the
green would be nice but despite such a disappointing finish
to the game it still gives us a lot of hope.
The luck was just not with us in the end but we showed
people what we are about and if we continue working as hard
as we have been then I am confident our rewards will come.
