Jamie's Hutch reunion?

JAMIE McGuinness would welcome back Ian Hutchinson with
open arms should the latter make a sensational return as Weymouth
manager.
Hutchinson was sacked by chairman George Rolls two months
ago but after last weeks resignation of Jerry Gill
who lasted a mere 44 days in the job Rolls admitted
he had made a mistake in disposing of the Teesiders
services.
The former boss hopes to seal a deal to return to the club
next week after he spoke with Rolls last night.
And loan star McGuinness, who joined the Wessex Stadium outfit
in November, would be more than happy to see Hutchinson lead
the Terras once again.
He said: I would love to see him back. He was the one
who brought me here in the first place and I remember my first
game against Bishops Stortford.
Everyone was expecting them to walk all over us. I
had not met any of the players before the game but there was
a great amount of unity and we got the win in the end, which
was a terrific feeling.
Hutch seemed to change things around and we started
to get some good results. It was unfortunate the way he and
Andy Mason departed, but even towards the end of Jerrys
tenure we were working as a team.
Hutch is known throughout Weymouth and whatever happens
he will still be a legend, but it would be nice to have him
back as it must be hard for Andy Harris to carry out the duties
of a manager and a player.
Midfielder Nathan Davies returned to parent club New-port
County prior to last Saturdays 3-0 defeat to Wel-ling
while fellow loanees Ben Farrell and Stephen Reed were both
missing from the Terras teamsheet.
However, Rushden & Diamonds ace McGuinness took
to the field for his 20th appearance in claret and blue, and
reiterated his desire to see out the season providing
the club succeeds in its bid to enter into a Company Voluntary
Arrangement on March 26.
He added: Sometimes matters can be taken out of my
hands, whether at Rushden or Weymouth, but I hope I can stick
around because since Ive been here Ive loved every
minute and the fans have been terrific. You dont realise
how big a club Weymouth are until you play for them.
Reflecting on Saturdays loss, in which Weymouth were
forced to field a host of reserve-team faces, McGuin-ness
said: It was a different scenario for me as Im
used to having experienced heads telling me what to do rather
than the other way round.
But I thought the young lads that came in on Saturday
were terrific. If everyone continues to give their all we
will have a chance no matter who we play, including Chelmsford
this Saturday.

Dorset Premier League at the Wessex Stadium last night - report
tomorrow.
