WEYMOUTH manager Matty Hale has ended his interest in ex-Team
Bath forward Tom Piotrowski and turned his attentions to finding
cover for injured midfielder Hector Mackie.
Hale is expecting the 21-year-old to be ruled out for up
to six months with a knee problem and with the fitness of
Andy Harris also in doubt the Terras boss has been forced
into a change of priorities.
He said: Tom is a player I would have liked to have
brought to the club but with Hectors injury we may have
to get another midfielder in to provide competition.
Danny Bennett did well against Exeter City on Wednesday
night and scored a good goal, and we will take another look
at him this evening at Paulton Rovers (7.30pm), along with
another ex-Team Bath player in Joe Arnold.
We have also had to let Phil Harpnutt go. You see,
with the budget we have, we cannot take them all, and now
we are looking to bring in one or two strikers and possibly
a midfielder to complete the squad.
Hale, who has also offered a contract to defender Jamie Frampton,
is happy with the progress his young squad is making and is
looking forward to seeing Harris, Dean Smith and Martin Slocombe
all back in action tonight.
He added: It will be interesting to see how Andy, Dean
and Martin come through this evening as we get ever closer
to the start of the season and the trip to Lewes on August
8.
Terras: Harrison, Townley, Brice, Critchell, Slocombe, Groves,
Smith, Metters, Preston, Cooper, Bennett, Du Chattelier, Arnold,

in a pre-season friendly at the Wessex Stadium on August 8
(1pm). Admission prices will be £3 for adults, £2
