WEYMOUTH manager Matty Hale will seal a hat-trick of signings
tonight when his side take on Longwell Green Sports (7pm).
Nathan Loader, Jordan Metters and Matt Cooper will all put
pen-to-paper following the pre-season friendly at Shellards
Road and it appears Jamie Frampton will soon do the same.
Hale, who began his managerial career at Longwell, said:
We have offered small contracts to Nathan and Jordan,
and also a deal to Matt who has already agreed to sign.
Nathan and Jordan are both 18 years-old, so they are
too old to play youth football anymore and need to get senior
games under their belts.
They have both done well in pre-season and we want
to keep working with them so we can develop them for the longer
term.
We are also hoping to do something with Jamie Frampton.
We have not offered him anything yet but will be looking to
do that over the next few days.
As for Matt, he is a big, strong centre forward who
has played in a couple of the friendlies and has done well.
The fans will see more of him next Wednesday when we take
on Exeter City.
As well as travelling to Bristol this evening, the Terras
will also take on Portland United at Grove Corner tomorrow
(1pm).
Hale added: Tonight and tomorrow will be the last chance
for the other trialists to earn a contract, as next week we
will be looking to go with the players that we will be working
with throughout the season.
The Terras will field one new trialist tonight in ex-Bristol
City centre-half Nick Dunn.
Terras: Harrison, Slocombe, Ledgister, Brice, Rose, Dunn,
Townley, Preston, Smith, Thorne, Grubb, Cooper, Groves, Metters,
Loader, Hale.
