Terras boss waiting for something
special

WEYMOUTH manager John Hollins has hinted that he is in talks
with a couple of quality players by claiming the final piece
of the puzzle "could be worth waiting for".
The Terras have already signed on 11 men for next season
but they still need to bolster their striking options and
add two goalkeepers.
Holllins said: "We are still trying to put a few things
together. We have the nucleus there and now it is just about
getting the final part right and it could be worth waiting
for.
"We have nearly got everything in place and it is always
nice to do that early but I also do not mind waiting for something
special.
"All good sides are strong straight down through the
middle and that is what we are trying to achieve. If the spine
is full of consistently strong players it does not matter
so much if the outside guys suffer indifferent form because
you can just swap them about a bit. But first you need that
platform to build around."
It is still unclear whether Bristol City goalkeeper Stephen
Henderson will return to the Wessex Stadium next season for
a second loan spell.
Hollins added: "The situation is still the same and in
the meantime we are speaking with three or four other keepers
as well.
"There are different types of keepers. There are experienced
ones, up-and-coming ones and big ones, and it is a very important
position to get right. That is why we will try and look at
as many of them as we can and test them out in games and we
certainly have some good friendlies to do that."
As well as entertaining League sides such as Bristol Rovers
(July 16, 7.30pm), Yeovil Town (July 18, 7.30pm) and Southampton
(July 22, 7.30pm) the Terras will also tackle some of their
near neighbours in pre-season. They will travel to Portland
United (July 11, 7pm) and Dorchester Town (August 1, 7.30pm),
while hosting Chickerell United (July 28, 7.30pm) and Bridport
(August 4, 7.30pm).
