DEFENDER Scott Doe, midfielders Anton Robinson and Marcus
Browning, and striker Stuart Beavon have all signed new deals
at Weymouth.
The news comes just two days after former Aldershot Town
winger Ryan Williams was named the Terras' first summer signing
and boss John Hollins is optimistic there is more good news
to come.
He said: "The fact we have already agreed new deals
with Scott, Anton, Marcus and Stuart, and signed Ryan is very
pleasing and I am delighted with how things are shaping up.
"There are four of five more potential new signings
in the pipeline and talks are still ongoing with the players
that are already with us so watch this space. Hopefully we
will be able to announce a few more things very soon."
Hollins has also revealed his reasons for bringing Williams
in.
He added: "I wanted something positive down the right
or left and you know with Ryan that a good delivery will always
come in. He will also pop up with the odd goal and he is a
player we have known for a while."
Browning is delighted that he has secured his future and has
admitted he is enjoying learning from Hollins and his assistant
Alan Lewer.
The former AFC Bournemouth man, who was linked with a move
away from the club when Jason Tindall was sacked as manager
in January, said: "I am pleased it has all been sorted
out and I am now very much looking forward to the new campaign.
"The fact things are already happening in terms of people
signing is important because it enables everyone to be fully
focused throughout the summer.
"Last year it was difficult for Jason due to everything
that was happening behind the scenes but now things are more
settled and with John and Alan both having good knowledge
of the league and the players that are available, things are
looking good."
As for his own individual goals, Browning added: "The
Achilles injury I sustained has not helped me at all but we
have now got to the bottom of that and hopefully next season
people will see me playing a few more games.
"I am certainly enjoying the coaching responsibilities
I have. Not only do I take the warm-up before each game but
I am also doing bits and pieces on the training field as well
and putting over my experience to the rest of the lads.
"John and Alan both have a wealth of knowledge about
the game and it is great having the opportunity to learn from
them.
"It was sad to see Jason go when he did but everyone
has to move on sometimes which is exactly what I have done.
Hopefully now we can push on and make more of a challenge
next season."
