Harrison dismisses take-over rumours

WEYMOUTH chairman Martyn Harrison has quashed rumours that
New Look founder Tom Singh is considering investing in the
The hotelier has also played down suggestions that ex-Terras
boss Garry Hill and his brother Colin Hill could be interested
in taking over the outfit in the summer.
Colin Hill, who is a property developer, is the majority shareholder
of the Wetmore Foundation that currently owns Peterborough
Uniteds London Road ground.
Last month Harrison revealed that he would fund the Terras
until the end of the season to give the club time to come
up with a plan to tackle the financial crisis that has seen
11 players exit the Wessex Stadium over the past few weeks.
Harrison said: Things are not a lot different to what
they were a couple of weeks ago. The Supporters Trust
have organised a meeting for March 9 and I have been doing
everything I can to help with that despite the fact that it
is an independent thing that has nothing to do with me.
There will be a few other meetings going on this week
at the club and we will just have to see how we get on.
When asked about New Look and the Hill brothers, Harrison
said: No, there is nothing in those rumours. We have
spoken to New Look in the past about their boards at the ground
but that is the only thing we have spoken about.
I am not sure where the Garry Hill thing has come from
We got a good 1-1 result against Burton Albion on Saturday
under the circumstances but a couple of days later all the
rumours start again. I just think people get bored.
Harrison is delighted with how Jason Tindall has done since
taking over the Terras hot seat.
He said: Jason and Roy OBrien have already produced
a great spirit in the dressing room and I am very happy with
how they are doing.
Jason has identified one or two players that he would
like to bring in but getting them here is not easy. After
the transfer window there is always a seven-day cooling off
period where you cannot do much but hopefully we will be able
to get some new faces in soon.
