Frustrated Terras face fixture
pile-up

WEYMOUTH face a fixture pile-up following the postponement
of their Conference South clash at Hayes.
The Terras were left frustrated after the Church Road match
was called off due to a frozen pitch following a Saturday
morning inspection.
League officials are expected to order the contest to be
rescheduled by mid-January leaving Garry Hill's men facing
a busy few weeks.
The disappointed Terras boss said: "I don't want to
say a great deal about the postponement because I don't want
to get in any trouble. What I will say though is that we are
very, very disapp-ointed about it.
"Needless to say I was eager for us to play the game
as were our players following our FA Cup exploits against
Nottingham Forest.
"Unfortunately the Hayes pitch was deemed frozen and
not playable so we have been left frustrated.
"It's a big shame because we were already facing a lot
of games between now and the end of the year and I expect
we'll have to fit in the game at Hayes pretty soon as well.
"Like I said, I'm extremely disappointed about the postponement
but I guess there's nothing we can do about it now and we
just have to get on with it.
"All we can do is make sure that when we go to Hayes
for the rearranged game, we are professional and earn a good
victory."
Despite having a free weekend, Weymouth remain fifth in Conference
South and enjoy games in hand on the teams above.
The Terras host Havant and Waterlooville in the FA Trophy
this Saturday and are then back in league action at Cambridge
City on November 29.
Hill's men then face four home games and one away before
the end of 2005.
Weymouth host Bognor Regis (December 3), Weston-super-Mare
(December 6), Dorchester Town (December 26) and Bishop's Stortford
(December 31) and travel to Lewes on (December 10).
"We're entering a crucial period between now and Christmas,"
said Hill, "and we've got a lot of games coming up.
"We've managed to get ourselves into a decent position
in the table but now we have to
keep grinding out results to ensure we build on our fifth
place.
"If we can do that, I'm confident that come the end
of the year we'll be in the thick of it with the league leaders
and we can then kick on from there."
Weymouth's Conference South fixture at Farnborough has been
arranged for Tuesday, January 10.
