WEYMOUTH Football Club's new era began at Redlands yesterday when coach Kevin Hales directed the first training session under the Terras full-time regime.

"It was a big milestone for the club and everything went really well for a first day back," said Hales after putting more than 20 players, including all manager Garry Hill's summer signings and some young trialists, through their paces.

"The facilities at Redlands proved absolutely perfect for our needs.

"There will be a few stiff bodies out there today, but that is only to be expected after the summer break. We'll be training now every day before we go off to Ireland at the weekend which will be great for building some camaraderie in the squad."

Hales said he had been impressed by the manager's new signings and hasn't ruled out the possibility of yet another newcomer joining Hill's squad in the near future.

"He has obviously done most of his work - but it wouldn't surprise me if there was another to come," he added.
