Carlsberg signing cheers the Terras

WEYMOUTH Football Club today made a new signing they reckon will go down well with fans.

The Terras have signed a three-year deal with brewing giants Carlsberg UK under which only the firm's beer will be sold at the Wessex Stadium.

The agreement also includes ground signage and ticket sponsorship and will involve player appearances at a host of functions.

Weymouth Football Club chief executive Gary Calder said: "To be working in partnership with such ahigh-profile brand in the sports arena is a fantastic achievement for the club.

"We look forward to a long and mutually successful relationship with them in the future."

Carlsberg, which sponsors a host of football teams such as England and Liverpool and tournaments including the FA Cup and Euro 2008, said it was pleased to link up with the Terras.

Gareth Roberts, sponsorship controller of Carlsberg UK, said: "Our partnership with Weymouth Football Club is vital to our strategy of growing Carlsberg and Carlsberg Export brands in the Weymouth area.

We are confident that together with the commercial team at Weymouth Football Club we will develop a successful partnership."
