TWO former Weymouth directors were honoured at the club's
annual meeting last night.

and director Dave Higson during a ceremony at
the Riviera Hotel.

Stadium shortly after lan Ridley ousted resort fish and chip
shop owner Bennett as chairman at 18 months ago.
After inviting them on to the stage, he said: "I don't
feel this two men have been given the credit they deserve
for the work they did at the club along with another former
director Mick Archer.
"Without people like them they would be no football club
for us to enjoy now.
Undoubtedly they saved Weymouth from going out of business
at a very difficult time and I, on behalf of the
current board and the supporters, thank them sincerely."
Harrison then revealed head offered Higson back a seat on
the board, however he Park Engineering owner declined the
offer for now.
"It's a kind gesture," said Higson, "but it's
not something I'm going to decide on right now."
Bennett added: "We took a ot of abuse, most of it totally
incalled for.
All we ever did was our very best for Weymouth FC and I can
assure supporters had it not been for the hard work put in
by the directors at that time there would be no club now."
